During three random late night musical improvisations between the fall of 2016 and summer of 2017, LONGPIG, the Montreal duo consisting of Byron (Room Control, vague mémoire, V O Y E U R) and Alex Martin, channeled or captured (or both) something truly eerie and mysterious. Through the use of analog and digital musical and recording equipment, LONGPIG intercepted and recorded various forms of EVP (electronic voice phenomena). Electronic static can sometimes be a conduit for communication between the living and dead, a portal to other dimensions, or a way to receive messages from beyond our world. These communications and paranormal phenomena are the basis for LONGPIG's debut full-length album “(un)holy TRANSMISSIONS”.
